Search now ranks results properly, forgives typos, and suggests as you type.
Search had been sorting by date rather than by how well things matched, so the best result for what you typed could sit a thousand posts down. That's fixed.
Results are ranked by how well they match
Descriptions, tags, characters and the artist behind a post all count now, weighted by how strong a signal each one is, with engagement breaking the ties. Searching an artist's name finds their work, not just their profile.
Half-typed words and typos work
Type cosp and you'll get cosplay. Misspell an artist's name and search will still work out who you meant. Two-word searches find single-word tags — pin up now finds everything tagged #pinup. And if a search does come up empty, it points you at the closest tag instead of a blank page.
Suggestions as you type
Matching tags and artists appear as you type, so you can jump straight to a tag page or a profile. Before you type, you'll see your recent searches — stored on your own device, clearable any time.
A tags tab, and counts that mean something
Results split into Posts, Users and Tags, each showing the true total rather than however many happened to load. The search page has its own search bar now, too.
